Instrument: Harp
Madison “Mad Harpist” Harding has a strong background in piano, harp, and percussion, but harp has always been her passion. She has studied with several renowned instructors including Dr. Cathy Clayton, Dr. Carrol McLaughlin, Janet Bensing Peterson, and Park Stickney.
Harding graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in Harp Performance. She was a founding member of the University’s harp ensemble, Crimson Harps, with whom she toured and recorded. She also arranged several pieces for use by the ensemble. During summers at the University, Harding was a teaching assistant for the Arizona Harp Experience with Dr. Carrol McLaughlin and Dr. Cathy Clayton.
Harding performs at Walt Disney World® Resort as part of the Walt Disney World® Orchestra, Disney’s Fairytale Weddings and Events, and at Victoria and Albert’s restaurant. She is currently principal harpist with Encore Performing Arts, benefiting charities in Central Florida.
Harding performs as a solo harpist and with various ensembles throughout Florida.
Harding regularly volunteers her talents at Give Kids The World Village as a part of their weekly Enchanted Tea Party.
Harding’s debut solo album, “For Bobbins,” was released in 2022 via Cosplay Records® to audiences worldwide. Listeners love the familiar music and enjoy the clean recordings of the acoustic harp using a special technique to eliminate pedal change sounds. Harding is currently working on her next recording projects, scheduled for release in 2026.
Harding is an active voting member of The Recording Academy/GRAMMYS®, American Harp Society (AHS), American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada (AFM), and Central Florida Musicians’ Association (CFMA) where she also serves as Vice President.
Harding is a harpist with Violectric and an educator with Violectric Education Programs since 2018.
