Jerry Jones

Jerry Jones attended the University of Mississippi School of Broadcast Journalism where, as a student, he was Station Manager of the campus television station, UMTV12. He also managed the Athletic Association’s Video department, which was responsible for recording football practices, special events and producing the recruiting videos.

Following college, he was employed by the Walt Disney Company as a technician, stage manager and entertainment manager with the Convention Entertainment Department. Supporting a variety of live stage shows and convention clients, this area responsible for all audio, staging, lighting, video and pyrotechnics.  While performing these roles, Jerry introduced and built the very first internal network for the Walt Disney Company, which led him to other positions in the company.

He then transferred to the Disney Group and Convention Marketing Department where he was responsible for all Internet based marketing initiatives. This included web design, social media, search engine optimization, application development and email campaigns.

Jerry then took over management of the Media Lab, Disney’s new technology research and development department, where he supported the Sales and Travel Operations department, Disney’s Fairytale Weddings, Disney’s Youth Programs, Disney Group and Convention Entertainment, Disney Institute, Disney Military Sales, Disney Travel Agents, and Disney Sales and Marketing. His team provided information about new technologies, developed solutions, created requests for proposals, managed bids, and managed projects through launch and maintenance.

Full Sail University then recruited Jerry as a Course Director in the Web Design and Development Bachelor Degree Program. He taught the Principles of Production Process course, both on-campus and online, instructing students on project management processes and techniques. He is now responsible for the degree’s Final Project block of classes where students design, build and launch their final projects, earning their Bachelor’s Degree at the conclusion of the program. Jerry developed the curriculum for several of the degree’s courses and manages the classes acting as a virtual Venture Capitalist to the student projects.

Over the past few years, Jerry has also been the Technical Director for Violectric, a string ensemble with keyboard and live percussion that plays exclusive arrangements of classic and modern rock music on acoustic-electric instruments. Violectric performs compositions from AC/DC to Metallica to Led Zeppelin, and has appeared, recorded and toured around the world with most every major name act in the business from opera to heavy metal.  Jerry is responsible for equipment purchases, maintenance, transportation, logistics, set-up, strike and sound engineering for the live shows. He also acts as Studio Engineer for their recordings.
