Elizabeth Chaconas has been playing viola since eleven years of age. She chose the viola because of the rich tones and mellow sound of the instrument. Throughout her many years of schooling, she participated in youth and college symphony orchestras, and was playing professionally while still a student at University of Central Florida School of Music. She graduated from UCF in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting, and will be graduating with her Masters Degree in Accounting in 2013. She served as Vice President of Fundraising and Community Service for the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi, and is spearheading a new chapter of FemFessionals at UCF. Her self-starter attitude and perseverance have allowed her to synergize her love of music and business in the performing arts world.
She has performed with various ensembles and orchestras, including: Space Coast Symphony Orchestra, Florida Pops Orchestra, Strings Etc., Fretless Rock, VioChic, and is currently the full-time violist with Violectric. Elizabeth is a member of the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada, Beta Alpha Psi, Delta Sigma Pi, Founding Member of FemFessionals, and American Violist Society. Through Violectric Education Programs and A Gift for Music, Elizabeth volunteers frequently with schools and other non-profit organizations to share her passion for music with students and young musicians around the United Stated and abroad.
